Compress Image to KB
Reduce photo size to exactly the KB you need — for exam forms, job portals and ID uploads. Sharp results, on your phone or computer.
Target size
The file will be at or just under this size. 1 KB is counted as 1,000 bytes, which every portal accepts.
More options
Width and height give an exact pixel size; the photo is trimmed from the edges to fit, never stretched.
Reduce photo size without uploading it
Online forms often ask for a photo under 20 KB or 50 KB, while phone cameras produce photos of 3–10 MB. Velprio shrinks your photo to the size you need, directly in your browser, so it doesn’t need to be uploaded to a server.
How to compress an image to a specific KB
- 1.Choose your target size, for example 50 KB.
- 2.Select one or more photos.
- 3.Click Compress.
- 4.Compare with the original if you like.
- 5.Download your photo, or a ZIP of all of them.
Why compress with Velprio?
Exactly the size you need
Instead of a quality slider you have to guess with, type the KB limit. Velprio finds the sharpest photo that fits — usually within a few percent of the limit.
Sharp, not blurry
Large photos are resized with a high-quality filter and gentle sharpening, so faces and signatures stay clear even at 20 KB.
100% private
Your photos never leave your phone or computer. Even the location data inside them is removed.
Frequently asked questions
Is Velprio free?
Yes. The image compressor is free to use, with no account and no watermark. You can compress up to 50 photos at a time.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Compression runs in your browser on your own device, so your photos are never sent to a server.
Can I compress a photo to 20 KB or 50 KB?
Yes. Choose 20 KB, 50 KB, 100 KB or 200 KB, or type any size. The photo is made as sharp as possible while staying at or under that size.
Will the file be accepted by exam and government portals?
The size is counted strictly (1 KB = 1,000 bytes), so a photo made for “under 50 KB” passes portals that count either way. Output is a standard JPG at 200 DPI by default. Always check the portal’s own photo rules for pixel size and background.
Can I compress iPhone photos (HEIC or HEIF)?
Yes. Add HEIC or HEIF photos straight from an iPhone. They are converted on your device and saved as a standard JPG, which every form accepts.
Can I keep a transparent background?
Yes. Choose PNG or WebP under More options and transparent areas stay transparent. JPG, the default, fills them with white, which is what exam portals expect for signatures.
Is my location removed from the photo?
Yes. Camera details and GPS location stored inside phone photos are removed from the compressed file.
